He spent the majority of his childhood in Stratford, CT, and earned his M.A. in English from UNC-Greensboro. A former sports reporter and editor, he has written for USA Today College and The Daily Star (Oneonta, NY). He is a three-time Best of the Net Nominee and the author of Shadow Folk and Soul Songs (Kelsay Books) and Far from New York State (New York Quarterly Press). Murphy Tutoring & Consulting. She has written for a variety of publications, from the more casual The Huffington Post to the peer-reviewed Shakespeare in Southern Africa and The Teaching Professor.


Jon Bishop‘s work has appeared in Laurel Magazine, Fourth & Sycamore, Boston Literary Magazine, the Arts Fuse, and Write City Magazine. She has previously written for the Times of India and she currently writes for the Chelmsford Alumni Magazine through The Lowell Sun newspaper. In the future, she hopes to pursue a career in an English-related field. Smrithi served as Assistant Editor for the first issue of Portrait of New England
